Cell Phone Policy

Arab Junior High School Cell Phone

Cell phones, smart watches, and any other communication devices may not be used while on the AJHS campus.  If a cell phone is brought to school, it must remain turned off and in the student’s backpack.  Texting and video recordings are not permitted at any time during the school day.  Failure to follow these guidelines will result in the following consequences. Failure to comply with the teacher’s request to turn over the phone will result in immediate ISS.

First offense: The cell phone will be sent to the office for the remainder of the day.  It can be picked up by the student after the final bell. Verbal warning will be issued.

Second offense: The cell phone will be sent to the office for the remainder of the day and the student will serve three days of silent lunch.

Third offense: The cell phone will be sent to the office and parents must pick up the phone from the office. The student will serve one day in ISS.

Four or more offenses: The cell phone will be sent to the office and parents must pick up the phone from the office.  The student will serve two days of ISS.
